http://www.AllYouWantInLife.com It's easy to lose focus on the important things in your life and to fill the precious time you do have with things that don't mean a damn thing. Prioritizing your time is critical to having a "full" life. If you start with all the small and trivial things... you'll have no time for the things that really matter. BUT, if you give time to the things that are important first - not only do you have time for them, but you'll find you have time for a whole lot more. This video analogy depicts this philosophy wonderfully. Do you need help getting your jar "full"? Visit http://www.AllYouWantInLife.com to learn more.

By this point in your course you may have learned the definition of a market: A place where buyers and sellers meet to engage in mutually beneficial exchanges. But what is a market economy? Two basic types of markets exist in any market economy: resource markets and product markets. The exchanges that take place in these markets benefit both the households and the firms that engage in exchanges. This lesson will introduce the circular flow of money, resources and goods and services in a market economy. We will examine how resources flow from households to firms, and goods and services from firms to households. We will also seek to explain why individuals are willing to engage in the exchanges that characterize the market system. http://www.econclassroom.com/?p=4397
More about this programme: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00wgq0l Hans Rosling's famous lectures combine enormous quantities of public data with a sport's commentator's style to reveal the story of the world's past, present and future development. Now he explores stats in a way he has never done before - using augmented reality animation. In this spectacular section of 'The Joy of Stats' he tells the story of the world in 200 countries over 200 years using 120,000 numbers - in just four minutes. Plotting life expectancy against income for every country since 1810, Hans shows how the world we live in is radically different from the world most of us imagine.

The semantics of the model I'm working from use common goods/common property/ common pool resources (resources used by multiple people) and common property regimes (the institutions or social arrangements between people, the property rights regarding common pool resources). We were taught that "the commons" is sort of an old term. It has issues because it blankets both common pool resources with no communication, no rules, no accountability, no punishment for those who break the rules, etc. (open access) and common pool resources with some cooperation or institution in place (common property regimes). When you get away from those aspects that allow people to trust one another and work together, the system looks like an open access system. The tragedy of the commons model describes wha...
